Friday night heralded the opening of my annual exhibition showing original artwork from my series Love at the Seaside, and originals from my latest book, Goose at the Beach. A private viewing was held for collectors of my work, which included images of Teignmouth, Shaldon and Dawlish. Doors opened at 6.30 and within minutes the gallery was filled with people! I am absolutely thrilled to say within the 2 hour show all 20 originals sold.
Due to the high demand a selection of local scenes from the Love at the Seaside collection were available through sealed bid only. As well as those who attended on the night, phone bids and emails came in from around the world to buy the artwork. It was really overwhelming, and Dave (my husband) had so many people wanting his attention in order to buy that he looked a bit frazzled during the rush! We felt truly blessed and loved the buzz and atmosphere in the gallery. We want to thank all those who came to support us, it was a really fun evening!
Laura Wall Private Viewing of paintings
One of the paintings under sealed bid had a bit of fun around it; a painting of the Teignmouth and Sheldon ferry boat. There was no reserve on it and 50% of the sale was given to the RNLI. Sir Andrew Ridgeway and his wife Valerie are the proud owners of the piece.
