Entrepreneur of the year National winner!
My name is Laura Wall, and I am an artist and illustrator living beside the sea in Devon with my husband, Dave and rather mischievous dog, Roxy. If I’m not painting or writing stories about Geese then you can normally find me bimbling along the beach and rock pools of Teignmouth, or perusing the picture book section in book shops.
I have been a professional artist now for nearly six years and I’m mostly known down here in the Southwest for my murals and art series ‘Love at the Seaside’…
It was in the Autumn of 2009 after a day at the seaside that I sat in my bed with little sketchbook, found my old box of watercolours and started to paint. Something I hadn’t done for a while. As a child and growing into my early twenties painting was in my blood, something to be done every day. It particularity blossomed when my parents moved us to Devon at 16 and I found that the country air suited me, by 17 I had my first exhibition in a gallery in Cornwall…
May 2015 saw the opening of my very own gallery and studio! Doing this in Teignmouth in Devon was an obvious choice for me. I simply love walking along Teignmouth’s beaches , there is so much inspiration to be had. There is also a growing art community in Teignmouth and my gallery and working studio is located in the Art’s Quarter.
Meet Sophie and her new friend, Goose, in this adorable picture book by debut author-illustrator Laura Wall! Sophie loves to dress up and play with her dolls and swing on the swings, but she wishes she had a friend to join in the fun. Then one day Sophie meets Goose. HONK! The two become fast friends.
