Limited Edition Collaboration with Blue Salt SUP

You never quite know who is going to walk into the gallery and the day Sean from Teignmouth’s Blue Salt SUP came in was no exception! Sean, a passionate watersports enthusiast and joint business owner of Kayak Hub in Exeter, came into the gallery one day and asked if I would collaborate with him and his business partner, Nils, in designing a beautiful limited edition seaside inspired paddle board!

Anyone who knows me knows I love getting out on the water and I have enjoyed SUP boarding for quite a few years now, (my husband’s passion for the sport has rubbed off on me!) and so I jumped at the chance to have my artwork on a paddle board.

After weeks of designing we were all ridiculously excited to see the board come to life. We decided upon one of my popular Teignmouth scenes ‘Why Be Anywhere Else’ to feature on the nose of the board - an extremely colourful and detailed painting and iconic of the area but also a happy seaside scene. The foot pad features my clouds - all inlaid rather than printed onto the pads so they won’t wear off - and on the back of the board is my Bobbing Boats Design.

When the board arrived we were over the moon with the results. It is an inflatable board with a double action pump and comes in its very own branded bag with wheels which also doubles up as a backpack so easy to transport! It has a carbon fibre paddle which is so light weight and has my little cloud logo on the end. As for the board itself? Well I had to road test it and oh my goodness it glides though the water. I would say it is a great all-round board. It is nice and wide, so very stable in the sea, lightweight so not heavy to carry but equally not so light you will blow away on it!

This board is such high quality and priced well for all the technical spec, I just love that it is a Teignmouth Company too and can’t wait to get out more on the water with mine!
