After a visit to Rome I knew exactly what perspective I wanted to take for this piece. Having stood where the couple are and taking in the electric, buzzing atmosphere of Rome this was both a joy and a challenge to paint. It was fun incorporating the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum and the symmetrical architecture of the Colosseum, along with the modern day to to day life of residents and tourists.
